Reviewers who attempt to compliment YA novels with statements such as “This excellent YA novel is so good it could be an adult novel!” or “This excellent YA novel is an adult novel in disguise!”
Guys.
Those are INSULTS. In saying these things, you are insinuating that no good book or no *real* book can ever be anything but an adult book. If you can’t talk about YA books without comparing them to adult books or critiquing them using those standards, you have no business reviewing YA books at all.
